David Christopher Roach I'm a responsible resident and citizen and I drink responsibly of a legal substance; in responsible quaititnes, and I never exceed the "legal limit"- It used to be .10; and now its .08- so- thats one Large Pitcher of draft beer; or 2 small pitchers throughtout eh course of an evening. BUT I got tripped up by OWI- which is ANY alcohol- less than .10; or .08; and well- like . o2-
I have never caused any y accidents or injury or property damage; and personally FCK the stupid laws they have in this stupid state.
Basically- we have a "Honey Trap- in fort wayne- all these bar owners serve everyone all they can drink till they are pie-eyed; they have NO responsibility by law to limit their customers; because it cuts their bottom dollar;
ALL these well- come on out- watch the game race ecvtne etc- and drink the whole time- the Indiana liquor control board/ATC- doesnt do their jobs- AND then its a racket- because the FWPD- sits one block away- "like shooting fish in a barrel" i heard one cop say- and then- the whole "system" comes down on them- and then the Inusrance rackets- Its all the age old scheme- give the natives fire-water; get them good and drunk and then steal everything they own.
Most of us are otherwise law abiding citizens- responsible; who just want to go out and have a bit of fun before we die- like I think i said- theres no after hours bus service nor affordable year round "holiday cabs"; or affordable taxis; etc. If your single and ; well- then we dont have a wife girlfriend; etc- to be the designated driver; etc.
So- Like I said- its a racket its a rip off by criminals- police politicians; the "whiskey peddlers; etc>
if they arrested everyone who broke the laws- from the bottom to the top- enforced the laws equally- we would have basically PROHIBITION all over again- and the govt and lawyers etc would all go bankrupt- follow the money.
so drink and drive- just be careful; responsible make sure all your lights and turn signals work; obey all laws- dont speed; dont weave; dont drive too slow- dont go across town to drink- stick close by to your neighborhood Pub; tavern; watering hole; Bar; etc- or move where you can walk or bicycle to one-AND technically a person can be arrested for public intixication for ANY REASON AND BAC;AND ditto for a bicycle as well- which is humorous- because if a person can ride a bicycle while "drunk" are they really DRUNK?
so- We are on the same side of the homeless issue- just different ways to solve the problem. My way is just as helpful as yours;

Karen Manley David Christopher Roach. What is so sad and yet infuriating about your comments and apparent attitude is that you lump every homeless person into one catergory.
There are many, many ways to 32nd up homeless and not all require you to be a drug addict, alcoholic, criminal or con artist. While there will always be some of those in any group it is not the majority of the population of this group. You can no more make your declaration as honest as I can say All police officers are corrupt and think they are above the law or anyone wanting to hold a public office is a con artist trying only to get rich. My two statements could easily look valid given current events but reality is much more complicated than that.
Why do you see buying bus tickets to somewhere else as the answer? Is there a place in the US that has an overflowing abundance of jobs and affordable housing? Of so, then by all means lets try to connect people who want to relocate with services in these places and once they are assured a job and housing lets help get them there. But not everyone wants to relocate.
And oh, there is no such place. So if we are sending homeless to other state's just to get rid of them you will meet 28th open arms the ones being shipped here ( from state's like Florida, California, etc). And that will happen.
Why do you feel the need to punish homeless people? Even if they are homeless because they made bad choices and decisions does that means they are never allowed another chance? And many homeless did not make bad choices. They lost jobs and could only find work making less money. And housing costs have gotten so ridiculously high that the government has acknowledged that no where in America can a person afford market rate housing on a minimum wage salary. And no, not every one had the chance to go into the military or to college.
What about children who are homeless because their parent/parents can not make enough money to afford stable housing? Or the disabled? What about the elderly who worked for much lower wages all of their lives? They were told Social Security would be there retirement. And ones who worked all of their lives being promised a pention and health-care after retirement and that has now been taken from them.
You sir, are a modern day Scrooge and do not speak (thankfully) for most people.
Instead of your punitive ideas I invite you to join us in educating others about what causes homelessness (first you must learn it yourself) and just how few ways out there are. Help us shine a light on lack of services, wasteful spending within these services, profiting off of homelessness that many do and realistic, non-punishing ways to 32nd homelessness.

I will grant shades of gray- RE reasons for the many homeless- and also the cops- - not all cops are crooked or criminals- but look at all the outrage across america about policing post 911; and vs "people of color"
AND Im not down or against the "good homeless"- who through WALL STREET CRIMINALS; schemers scammers; speculators etc- who crashed the economy-like what happened in the 1930's. In fact- that is partly why I STUDIED ECONOMICS and 20th century history- is to understand what went wrong and to not repeat history. FDR and his team of professional economists had things on track back then; and world wide wide spread able bodied men out of work and angry - ages 17 to 30 or so- are a potential meance for starting world war 3, god help us all- especialy in the islamic nations where the world banks are trying to starve their economies to prevent them from acquiring wmds; or having the finances to cause trouble with the "western nations"- mainly white mostly christian eurpoean heritage and capitalist- but in general non- islamic - nations.

look- the reality is- if you have burned all your bridges in your hometown- no one will take you in- no friends family neioghbors churches shelters etc- well- maybe its time to move on- and to move on you need a bus ticket- hitch hiking is a fast lane to the grave; as it stowing away ona RR boxcar like they did in the 30's-
Im on your side- but My and the rest of ALLEN COUNTYS WAY OF DOING IT- no ones going to hand out food shelter and clothing - and esp not CUSHY COMFORTABLE HOUSING- you have to earn that on your own.

I dont have the time or the cash to do much else nor the temperment- sorry- If im elected- ill do my best to use the resources i can wisely to help as many as i can- AND I have been posting in my FACEBOOK PAGE- POSTS which have other ideas other than busing the homeless elsewhere-
look- the reality is- if you have burned all your bridges in your hometown- no one will take you in- no friends family neioghbors churches shelters etc- well- maybe its time to move on- and to move on you need a bus ticket- hitch hiking is a fast lane to the grave; as it stowing away ona RR boxcar like they did in the 30's-
Im on your side- but My and the rest of ALLEN COUNTYS WAY OF DOING IT- no ones going to hand out food shelter and clothing - and esp not CUSHY COMFORTABLE HOUSING- you have to earn that on your own.
